Using Amber's previous brand summaries, her social media, and my knowledge of her as a person, I came up with a new brand write up for her textile arts: I grew up exploring the woods of western North Carolina, in and around Asheville, and been surrounded by Native American artwork. Those landscapes, and the excitement of an adventure, discovering old, buried arrowheads, and crystals, formed my childhood and the inspiration for my collection. Since moving to Los Angeles, I have found a new set of images and landscapes from which to be inspired. Death Valley’s sand dunes, the Pacific Ocean at sunset, and the Vasquez Rocks all have a texture and feeling that I emulate in my work. Manipulating natural materials, copper, quartz, arrowheads, and wool, I produce work that reflects nature, adventure, and discovery. |
